Another question we are often asked is, “who makes the spiders?” The maker behind spiders and Tinsel Creations is me! Tammy - former zookeeper/elephant trainer and park ranger, and always a nature loving bird watcher.
You may be wondering how I came to create spiders. I heard the "Legend of the Christmas Spider" about 15 years ago and was instantly in love with the story, but never created any of my own.
When my beloved aunt passed away a few years ago I was given some of her jewelry. Among the jewelry was a few broken pieces, including one completely stunning bead. That’s all it took! In that moment I knew I wanted to create a special keepsake for my mother who was grieving the loss of her sister. And that keepsake was a spider ornament.
When I gave it to my mother she cried, and then proceeded to hang it in her kitchen. She looks at it every day and thinks of my amazing aunt, who we all love and miss so much.
From then on I’ve been making and creating spiders. I’ve also been fortunate enough to create custom remembrance pieces, so others can remember their loved ones in a unique way.
